White Floors Are The Go

Well I could not stand looking at the revolting blue carpet in my lounge any longer so tonight after work my husband and I took it all up. After pouring over magazines and trying to decide on carpet or boards I have decided to paint the concrete in a high gloss white. I know this is going to look great and in our climate where the weather really does not get that cold I think this is going to be a great alternative for now. Wish me luck!!!!

Wish I could pull up our digusting (and I do mean disgusting!) grey brown carpet that is ALL through the house bar the wet areas. The floorboards are terrible underneath too. So until we get to the serious renovation stage and the cash to go with it maybe my dream of real wood floors will happen. White concrete floors sound fabulous to me up there. So easy to throw a rug or two around should the need arise. Good decision!
Have fun, from here 🙂 Irene x

Awesome! I can hardly wait to see the finished floor. I would paint my floors white, except that I rent. But, at least I do not have any carpet but nice hardwood floors. I will never go back to carpet! ♥

YOU took up the carpet? Wow…you must be a handy woman. When I was young I attempted things like that.

Years ago when my husband was on a business trip I had been wanting him to take down a chandelier that hung over the diningroom table so I could paint it. Well, the kids were asleep so I climbed up on the table and taped all around it and taped paper all around it and so that it covered the ceiling area…and I covered the table and opened a window and proceeded to paint it. It looked wonderful! It was probably not a safe thing to do cuz I didn't flip the power off at the circuit box…but it was off at the wall switch! But I was careful and it all worked out. I used to do those kinds of things…but not anymore. (:>)

I hope your project turns out lovely…like all of your other projects.
