Spindle Back Chair Makeover

This is where my blog name might have to be changed to paintmeblack. White was just not going to happen on these beauties, all along I could picture them painted black. Funny how you just know and can picture them paintd a certain colour. Other times I have to ponder for a few weeks until I know what colour to paint certain pieces but this time it was cystal clear from the start.
I purchased six of these spindle back chairs with a large matching table but I haven't got around to doing the table yet. Thought I would team them up with a market find table that I already had. This setting looks very country and rustic the total opposite from my whites but fits in just perfect no matter what style.

Gorgeous makeover Sandy, and I love love the table. The top has so much character, are you going to leave this one as is? Tamara x

I like the new color of the chairs better. I have some like it that were dark green and I finally painted them white and I just love them. So much so that the Mr. has had to reglue the leg spindles way too many times. Kids can be hard on chairs.

I do like the chairs black but it's the table that caught my eye!

You did a beautiful job Sandy..I love black too! And the black emphasizes the spindles so nicely.

My dining room furniture and bedroom furniture are black and I love it.
We have some old spindle chairs in our basement that I often have seen in office settings and I am going to be painting 2 of them in black too...This has been on the "I-want-to-do" list for about a month or so.
We have 2 black benches around our table plus 2 mennonite-type chairs and Im wanting to remove one bench (and find a home for it somewhere else in our home :) ) and add the 2 spindle chairs painted in black. Can hardly wait....but Sandy.. the projects keep coming and coming! :)
Im lovin' it!! I just need more time!!
Have a nice Sunday and thanks for your lovely comments..so happy to hear from you...

With all my heart...Deborah xoxo

Hi Sandy- just found your blog and took a looksie- love what I'm seeing.

One huge question here: I have been looking all over sites in Oz for where to buy a cloche. I see cloches in so many American home blogs, but can't seem to find any here. I noticed you have an extremely nice, etched cloche in one of these pieces.

Any chance you bought that in Australia? Any clues? (Do we use another name here, perhaps?) I'm in Sydney, by the way, so you think it really wouldn't be that hard to find!

thanks, Lou
