More Finished Pieces

When painting mirrors its a good idea if you can to remove the whole mirror from the frame. If you can’t, make sure you tape it up well and I lay newspaper over the mirror to avoid paint spills. This mirror was tricky and quite a big job as lots of scrolly flowers but the end result is stunning. was going to do the french grey underneath but once I applied the white undercoat the white just did it for me. I have over sanded and destressed it so it does look old and chippy.

Just need to have a chain put on the back and its all ready for a wall somewhere.

Hope I’m not boring you all with these finished projects but as soon as I saw this cute cabinet I knew it woud come up lovely. The flowers on the doors have been all sanded back to show the detail.

I will get to the french grey eventually and hope to finish some pieces this week to show you all.

OMG!!! Both are glorious! The mirror is stunning – I can't wait to see it hanging. I love anything painted and you do such a fabulous job. Painting really shows the details so much better – I'm glad others like painted furniture as much as me! 🙂

Not boring at all! I love the mirror. I did something similar recently with a can of spray paint….spent a bit of time getting it off the mirror!! Wish I'd read this first!

Sandy you really have the knack….looks like you will need some more drop sheets soon. NZ was not cold really, only at night in Napier when it rained but apart from that is was great! Thanks. Simone

Hi Sandy. Oh my gosh, love that mirror! In answer to your question on my blog about danish oil, yes, you can just buy it from the hardware store. It should be in with the stains and sealers. I use the Cabbott's brand one. I've had a few questions about the score lines on my table so I'm gonna post about how I did it soon.

Hello Sandy, Have just found your lovely blog and ♥LOVE♥ what you're doing; white furniture looks so French. And I can't get over the bargains you're picking up – all those beautiful tables!

I'm going to pinch that idea of putting the mirror in the middle of the table (in your sidebar). I have a very old round mirror with the bevelled edge that was my Mother's and will get it out of the barn tomorrow, polish it up and place it on my round dining table, with the crystal vase on top!
