A Beautiful Weekend

I was unpacking the car this morning with some finds from last week and decided it was such a beautiful morning I would take some photos outside.
Beautiful basket chandelier, bird cages, vintage suitcases, a vintage pine table and some wrought iron garden chairs.

 

 

We treated ourselves to a night away at a local Gold Coast Resort, who would have thought that winter could be so good. Views from our balcony. 

I Found A Door

I have been on the look out for a lovely narrow display door and this week I was in luck.
I have painted it a pale shade of blue and applied dark wax to age it.

 

Love the decorative flowers. 

 

 

Beachy Blue Nightstand & New Stock

Funny how we all can't wait to get our new finds home and give them a new look. Lately I have been leaving my pieces with natural timber tops. I think it gives the piece a sense of warmth and makes a nice contrast with the paint colors chosen.
I did start out painting the top of this piece but was interested to see what was underneath all the dark brown stain, so off it all came.
Painted blue with white inside, a nice tall nightstand perfect for beside the bed.

The old cinema sign was a recent find, the owner said she had carried it around for 30 years, wonder If I will do the same.

Vintage Pine Drawers

I picked these drawers up from a recent auction, they were completely covered in mud and were very unattractive. I guess that's why I was the only bidder.

But they are totally lovely now and would make a great piece for any bedroom.
I had a hard time getting to the beautiful timber on top, the paint was literally baked on.
The end result was worth the hard work.

 

Some new hardware and they are ready to go.
The beautiful ornate frame was part of an old screen. I removed the insert and turned it into a chalkboard.
