Seaside Inspiration

My finds for last week were all inspired around coastal decorating. After spending a Sunday breakfast by the beach I came home and played around.
Love this little table with its handy magazine rack underneath. Painted white base with distressed top. 

 

These fisherman baskets are great for storing bits and pieces.

The turquoise lamp base is my favorite, what a great color.

Coastal Blue Dresser

Very slack with the before shots but this dresser was a solid little number it just needed a new paint job. Left the silky oak timber top just gave it a stain and wax and also added new hardware. 

My Keen's Mustard Box I am told it from the 1930's and very rare.
Just love it.

Beachy Side table and garden chairs

I have had this little side table/desk for ages and it was quite lifeless painted just white so today I have given the top a coastal look by painting it green and heavily distressing  it.
I think it has loads more character now.

My french lavender is thriving and the smell is just divine. 

Matching pair fold up beachy green timber chairs. They look blue here but are really green. 

 

Teamed up with a cute little bistro table.

 

 

 

A Hamptons Style Desk

Firstly I just want to send my condolences to Fiona from lilyfieldlife.blogspot.com and her family. Fiona lost her mother on Sunday who had been suffering from illness. Amazing how through the world of blogging we meet some wonderful people and Fiona is one of them. She is a strong woman and I know she will remember her mum with a smile on her face. xx

Just finished this lovely Hampton's Style Desk. Four drawers and a sweet little bookcase on the side.

 

 

Lovely whitewashed top.

Great solid cross back timber chair. 

I celebrated a birthday on the weekend and treated myself to this beautiful Armoire. It is very similar to my other one but this one was already white and just needed a little sanding.
Bringing it into the bedroom was quite a challenge and lots of swear words were exchanged. We had to not only remove the sliding door but the fixed panel as well, lucky I have a very patient husband. Love it , great for storing hiding all your bits and pieces. 

 

 

 

Plenty more new pieces coming this week. 

French Style Drawers

Hope your all having a good week, hard to believe its almost the weekend once again.
The sun came out today hooray, its been so wet this winter I cannot believe I have been forced to paint inside these last few days. 

Finished these lovely french style chest of four drawers with Paris knobs.

Fun Stuff

Long time in between posts but the weather here has been terrible for painting so I hit the road instead and found some lovely old vintage treasures.
My favorite was this red tricycle, I love that rusty old seat. 

 

Old vintage ruler's. 

I purchased this old vintage picnic basket at a garage sale in the cane fields up north. The owner explained to me how he use to strap the basket onto his truck and have it filled with his morning tea. 

Lovely old pine table with chippy green legs and sides. 

The old plaque is a sentimental piece that I recently found in my father in law's garage. This sign was apparently on an old building that he sold many years ago. He kept it as a reminder of the first ever piece of Real Estate he sold. 

The large white bookcase with wicker drawers was a recent find, so many uses.  

Well the rain is still persisting so I am heading off for the weekend.
