Ageing Gracefully

These drawers have been on my mind lately as I wasn't exactly sure what to do with them. Sure I could have given them a fresh coat of white paint but it takes years to get this sort of patina. So I just gave them a wash down, re-sanded in some areas and applied the crystal knobs. Sometimes pieces just get better looking with age don't you think?
I think they look like they are straight out of a Jeanne d' Arc Magazine.

The french style mirror was a find this week I just painted it multiple colors and then glazed it to get the look I wanted.

Enjoy your weekend x

Hi Sandi,
I've just discovered your amazing blog. I was so intrigued by your blog's name that I had to visit.
what an amazing place you have here.
Love, love, love what you did with your pieces. your dresser has such a wonderful patina and so much character. you are so right: it looks like it is right out of a JDM.
And your frenchy mirror is a beauty.
You did an amazing job with the paint layers and the glaze.
so glad to have popped over tonight.

Wonderful mirror makeover. That's not what a "few layers of paint" would look like if I did it. lol
