Boho Dresser

What a bright & cheerful way to start off your Monday by showing you this gorgeous Boho Dresser.
I was recently asked to paint this dresser for a client who was inspired by a piece of furniture at Black and Spiro. The Boho dresser was purchased from Katherine at theoldboathouse and it just goes to show that if you have a vision for a piece it really can be transformed into anything.
I painted this piece in a gorgeous shade of turquoise with a high gloss finish - I think this piece will make a real statement in the entry of her home.

This was a brave colour choice but the clients home is bright and beautiful and I can see why she chose it.

I ended up putting the original handles back on after these images where taken.

Have a piece in mind that needs transforming. I would be happy to help.

French Half Table

Thankyou for all your lovely comments on my french armoire in the previous post. There were quite a few offers to purchase it but I have decided to keep it for a few weeks anyway.
I picked up this lovely detailed french looking half table this morning and yes I have made it over already. I have painted all the detailed bottom section and stained the beautiful timber on top.
Now just another piece I am going to have trouble parting with.

French Armoire Makeover

I could not wait to transform this beautiful armoire that I picked up last week. Finds like these dont happen very often and I was so excited to bring this piece home. Originally black and yellow I have made it over using a gorgeous french blue and then dry brushed with a touch of white. Having the original colour black underneath made it perfect for sanding and destressing.  Some might have been put off as there were no doors but I could imagine all my eiderdowns in it or even in an office or bathroom filled with all your bits and pieces.

I could have taken the easy option and just paintd it white but I wanted to bring out the detail and give it that french scandanavian feel.

Painting the inside white gives it a nice contrast.

Now to decide if its a keeper or a seller - maybe a keeper for a little while.

Beach Style Chair

With the drawers in the previous post coming up so well I decided to do this little fold up beachy chair as well. It had been sitting in my sisters garage for months so I threw it in the car and gave it a fresh look.  Just dont know if I can give it back now.

I am off to work on a gorgeous french armoire I picked up this week.
Enjoy your weekend.

Beachy Style Drawers

I have been churning out the pieces while the sun has been shining. I did put the electric blanket on the bed this week but thankfully I haven't had to use it just yet. You dont mind the morning and evenings being on the chilly side when the days are just so beautiful.

I didn't do the before shot of these drawers but they were in pretty bad shape. Lots of marks on the top which had to be sanded but I am so happy with the end result.
This was one piece that I couldn't make my mind up on a colour. I did paint them white first up but after looking at them for a few days I mixed up a chalky blue/green and now they look much better.

These are the original old handles which I think look pretty cool on this tallboy.
Perfect for the little man in the house.
