A New Find

I picked up this gorgeous old pine kitchen hutch last week and have briefly contemplated painting it white. But when I dress it all up with some white ironstone & china I kinda like it just as it is.  I think this piece will stay here for sometime until the next new piece comes along. 

I kinda think this is one of those pieces that just has to be left as is.

Would you agree?

My ironstone torene was given to me as a going away gift by a Hotel I worked at before we were married some 18 years ago. The kids just recently broke the ladle so I am on the lookout for a replacement.

I am making the most of this gorgeous weather here today and have been busy with the paint brush. I just bought this piece into the house to show you the finshed product.  Gorgeous piece with very sexy legs all destressed to show her trye beauty.

Wardrobe French Grey Style

I love furniture that is functional and this wardrobe appealed to me because it has stacks of shelving inside and speaks versatility. This piece could be used in a bedroom, kitchen or even a laundry for storing all your beautiful linens. This piece will be making its way to my shop space.

I painted it a multitude of colours to get the result I wanted and sanded it heavily for an aged look.

It was definetly a plain jane to start off with but I think it's ready for a french style shabby chic home perfectly now.

Lights Camera Action

Today was a very exciting day as my home was photographed for an upcoming magazine shoot. I have been frantically getting the house clean, covers all washed and the kids out the door in time for the photographer and stylist that arrived on my door step today.

It was a great day, the sun was shining and I cannot wait to see it all come together.

I will share more once the photos have gone to publication.

Weekend White Inspiration

I have been busy churning out the pieces for my shop space lately so not many pieces have made it into the house to photograph. But today I thought I would photograph this sweet sofa table that I have just finished and share some pretty finds.

These twine hearts I picked up for $1 each I love their natural rustic look.

I caught my son having a rest on the sofa and I couldn't resist taking this snap of him. Gotta love weekend afternoons just lazing around.

Mid Week Finds

Today I had a morning appointment for work and had a quick half an hour to kill at the Thrift Store. This was a store I would normally never go to and I left with some gorgeous finds straight from the pages of a Rachel Ashwell book.  

This Mason jar was totally gorgeous and perfect for my roses.

A gorgeous ruffled blue & white Sheridan Doona Cover with matching pillow case.

A soft and very yummy baby pink chenille quilt.

And finally a gorgeous pair of lamps.

I was very pleased with my haul today and made my work appointment all worth while.

Monday Blooms

For the first time in months I actually wore a pair of jeans yesterday. The slightly cooler temperatures have been welcoming.
