Back Home

Melbourne really turned on the cold weather and even though I was born in Victoria and spent the first 20 years of my life there I always tend to forget just how cold it can be. I love visiting and catching up with family and friends but coming home to sunny Queensland was a huge relief.
I did lots of shopping and have some great items that will be making their way to the Woolloongabba Antique Centre this week.

Today I finished off this rustic hall table with turned legs. I wanted a really aged look and I'm pretty sure I have achieved this here.

Check out these vintage glasses that my nana gave me. They were her brothers and well over 100 years old.

Gorgeous new french cushions.

Metal plant stands/bird cage
We drove around Melbourne with an hour to spare before our flight and found the four cottages that our currently on The Block.
Whow how impressive they look now.

Sadly Katrina wasn't there the day we visited but they have all done an amazing job.

I'm so frustrated that I can't see the block from here in U.K...hopefully the cable network will pick it up...Aussie stuff is pretty popular here. Regarding QLD we lived in Yeppoon for 3 years, and even though I lived nearly all my life in Melbourne, I discovered during this time that deep down inside I'm really a Queenslander!!...it may be something to do with the weather???Robx

Did you paint the little table black and then white on top and then distress it by wiping off the white and letting the black come through in spots?

However you did it...it looks great! Love the birdcage too! And the basket of pillows beneath.

As a Melbourne girl living in Brisbane who loves all things painted white I was so excited to just find your blog. I'm now following (along with 1650 other people). I love what I've seen so far.
I also can't believe how good The Block looks. It's going to be interesting to watch it unfold.
Cheers

Sandy, just wanted to say hi and let you know that the gorgeous blue shadowbox that was snaffled from your store went to my place. Have been following your blog for ages and love your work. If you want to see how much kids are sharing the joy with me pop over and look at my most recent post as well as 3 posts ago titled "It started with a Singer". I live close to the WAC and I was so excited to be able to duck down the day of your post and bring such a gorgeous piece home- it will be very loved and don't stress- the pink bathroom makeover was done with blutack! melx
