My Own Store

I knew there were good things going to happen this year and when recently I was offered my own shop space at the Woolloongabba Antique Centre I jumped at the chance. Shop 62 opened today at 22 Wellington Road Woolloongabba.
Featuring Shabby Chic Painted Furniture and homewares.
 Open 7 days 9am-5pm.
So this is what I have been doing this last week - painting like crazy. I would like to thank Ange for helping me set up the shop space today.
I wanted to make this space light and fresh and thought the pom poms were a great addition to the ceiling (made by me).

I would be lying if I said I doubted myself about taking on this venture. The fear of failure the fear that no-one would want to buy my things. We are given these opportunities in life and I guess if we don't grab them we will always wonder. I want to thank my family and friends who have encouraged me the whole way to take on my own shop space.  You never know whats around the corner and with hard work and passion I am going to run with this opportunity.   My aim is to provide affordable beautiful pieces for your home.

Photobucket

Before all the fun began I did have to paint that back wall which was previously the brightest shade of orange.

My first sale was made before the shop was even set up - this gorgeous kids table & chairs with blackboard top.

My stunning 1950's wardrobe which just may have to come home with me.

I wish you every success in the world with it! If and when i ever make it over to the GC, i will have to pop in to check it out!

Are they all bits of furniture that you have bought and done up yourself?

DEAR DEAR SANDY....THIS IS AWESOME!!~~~

hey, remember when i said to you YONKS ago about opening a shop??

HEY...your items are gorgeous & the beauty with starting off in an antique market type enviornment is that you dont have the HUGE expenses per se associated with a total BIG shop...

Having had a successful gift shop for 10 yrs in Melbourne , I think I can say all this with some sort of confidence??/encouragement...

I CANNOT wait to get up your way...
I have been saying that for "yonks" and was about to book a trip as MR B is doing a 7 week internship in Brisbane...
BUT hence the floods arrived & he is still not back at work...
SO maybe , when things settle down a tad your way, I shall be on your doorstep ASAP!!~~

You will be overwhelmed with the response from customers, I can guarantee it...

xxxxx MUCH LUCK...GO GIRL...andrea

Hi Sandy, how exciting! Congratulations on opening a shop! I remember saying to myself, when I used to have a shop,is there is a buyer for everything. I used to be amazed at what I could sell in there. Things that I thought would take a while to sell would sell straight away and things that I thought would sell quickly took a while. I have no doubt you will do really well. All your stuff is gorgeous. Just love that wardrobe! Have lots of fun.. take care, Maryann
