Pedestal Dining Table

I am known to change my dining tables quite regulary and who wouldn't when you find such lovely pieces on your travels.
I love pedestal dining tables they have such a formal look and not only look amazing under a huge chandelier in a dining room but also in an entry way in a large home.
The timber on this piece was in such nice condition that I didn't have the heart to paint it. Yes thats right some things are not meant to be white all over. Just gave it a coat of danish oil and painted the pedastool and all done.

A Sweet Dresser

Had a very lazy Sunday finishing off some pieces in between some shopping and some housework. Sorry about the light in these photos.  I had been waiting all day for the sun to come out and finally it did for 5 minutes anyway.

Wanted to show you this piece I finished yesterday.  Loved the handles and the fact that it's a very useable and versatile piece.

A sneak peak of something I am working on. Will reveal within the next few days.

Coffee tables or side tables are handy piece of furniture to have around the house.
When I picked this piece up I loved the chunky turned legs and knew it would come up great white. I have some other lovely pieces I am working on at the moment as friday proved to be day for finding nice pieces.

A thankyou and some Lamps

I want to thankyou all for your lovely comments on my new blog name and new look. A special thankyou to Katrina Chambers for her design work - what a woman. I was so fortunate to win this giveaway and I am thrilled with the end result - thanks Katrina.

Have given the paint brush a rest this week and have been busy making some lamp orders. These will saldy go to a new home tomorrow but haven't they turned out lovely and feminine.

If you recognise the drawers that these lamps are sitting on you will notice that I have started their shabby transformation I kinda like them all chippy and beat up and may just leave them as is. I will reveal their current look in a post tomorrow.

Another Little Bedside

This bedside I picked up last week has now had the white paint treatment and looks so much better. Put the stainless steel handles back on to keep the piece looking sharp & modern.

Great Lengths

What great lengths have you gone to for a new purchase? I know there are some woman out there that have to hide their purchases from their husbands and sneak them into the house. Lucky for me I don't hide anything whether it be clothes or furniture. To be honest my husband would probably walk past a new piece of furniture ten times before he realised it was new. I guess thats because I have so many pieces come and go that maybe they all tend to look the same.

I was driving around the Coast one day and saw this old guy pull up beside me in a rusty old ute. On the back all tied up was the most gorgeous wrought iron setting. I couldn't take my eyes off it so I pulled in behind him and started the chase. I could not believe that I was doing this but I just had to get a closer look at it. Right now your probably all thinking I am crazy but I bet there are many of you bloggers out there that have done similiar. Anyway I knew the tip was on the road we were travelling and all I could imagine was that this guy was going to dump it. So upon the entry to the tip I got out of my car and asked the man if he had intentions of dumping that setting. Well you know where it ended up don't you - in my 4WD. What a lovely man he was and I saved him paying the tip fees. This brings me to ask you what lenghts have you gone to for a new purchase or thrift find.
A good friend on mine scored a wardrobe off the side of the road, after many trips back & forth late in the night she finally found it. What an effort she went to to get it home and what a story she had to tell.

Bedside Drawers Wallpaper Inspired

I actually thought there was no hope for these drawers but I purchased them drawn to the fact that they reminded me of anaglypta wallpaper. I'm not sure what sort of finish you call it but now they are white they are actually white lovely & different. Added some lovely pink drawer pulls and they are all done.

Quite ugly wound't you agree.

A New Deck

A new outdoor deck.
Actually its just another lovely space for me to decorate.

Our outdoor pergola area was in need of a makeover and what better way to utilise such a great space than to build a deck. Lucky for me my handy husband had the same vision and could see the potential in decking this area. What started out as quite a small job turned into quite a big one as we took the deck right out to our bedroom which is at the side of the house . He is almost finished and I cannot wait to decorate this area with useful furniture nice shutters and maybe even a daybed.
We are surrounded by trees and bush which makes it a lovely place to sit out and enjoy the outdoors. I have noticed there are some other bloggers doing the same thing and tossing up what sort of outdoor curtains to use - I can see some lovely rattan shutters being used here.

You will have to pop back when its all finished.
Love your work.
