Sideboard

Well it wouldn't be a weekend without some completed painting. I have some lovely pieces I am working on at the moment so stay tuned for some more photos. This sideboard is very sweet and could have many purposes - desk, halltable or sideboard in your lounge or kitchen.

Timber Half Table

I think I may have started something in blogland with all these gold mirrors. So many of you left comments that you have the exact same mirror in your garage or hidden away somewhere waiting for a makeover. So get to it girls and let me see that white paint on those gorgeous ornate mirrors. You will be so glad that you did. - No seriously thanks for all your lovely comments it made my day.

I love these half tables as they look great up against a wall in a hallway or in a bedroom as a desk or bedside table. This table I picked up and was made over in a morning.

Beautiful Mirror All Done

You can see how large this mirror is by comparing it to the armoire above.

How gorgeous did my mirror turn out, I only wish I had of painted it years ago. Not sure where to put it yet, I keep moving it around as you can see from the photos below. Think it would even look amazing up on the wall.

Grain Sack Lamp

I have a few of these grain sacks lying around and when I picked up this drum lamp shade last week I knew exactly what I had planned for it. So this morning I have my son home sick so whilst he was getting some rest on the couch I started to cut out the pattern to cover the shade.

I think the lamp base might be better painted black but I couldn't wait to show you it all done. I don't think it needs any fancy braid as I like it just how it is.

I just cut and pinned the grain sack around the shade and used the hot glue gun to secure it.

Giveaway Winner & Latest Makeover

You know that white mirror that I did recently for a friend well I thought I would tackle one of my own. I have had this huge mirror for ages and have lived with the gold original look but I'm afraid it just doesn't do my home justice. So on the weekend I finally applied the first undercoat in my new spray room. Stay tuned for the final look

Dare Gallery & Real Living Giveaway

Last night Ange and I had the pleasure of attending Dare Gallery who had hooked up with Real Living Stylist Jason Grant. Jason gave a talk on how to style a room three different ways by using different cushions and props. We all received a good bag to take home which included the latest June issue of Real Living. Because I already have a copy I am giving mine away. So just leave a comment and on Monday I will draw the lucky winner.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Woolloongabba Antique Centre. It hosted a Girls Night Out with Guest Speaker Interior Designer/Author Bronnie Masefau. Bronnie gave a demonstration on hosting a high tea and was happy to answer all our questions on interior design. Later we got to shop and we had some fun with some lovely giveaways. I was the proud winner of a vintage suitcase donated by the lovely Katherine. Will show you that tomorrow.

Completed Mirror

Well that mirror is all done and I must say that I got the job done heaps quicker thanks to some blogger influence. Yes that advice was to invest in a spray gun for jobs like these and I am so glad that I did. Just a cheapy from the hardware store (or for me I was lucky and purchased one new from a friend). I think this toy is going to get a thrashing and the next job is to set up a spray booth in my shed.

I think the owner of this beauty is going to be very happy but I want to keep it for one more day so I can just look and admire.

Well I had my market stall on the weekend and it was a huge success. Managed to sell quite a bit of bric a brac I had lying around and received a great response from the locals. Thanks to all that came down and had breakfast it was a lovely morning.
