These little whatnots are very handy pieces to have around the house for all your china and bits and pieces. After I started painting this I thought I was mad as it took ages to get into those tight corners and paint all that turned timber. But I persevered and was so glad that I did. Worst part is I bought another smaller one so will have to tackle that as well.
The gorgeous bedroom chair was a market find from last week.

Very cute piece! And so funny, as I have been wanting to order pom-poms all day from Etsy, and voila there they appear!!!

Nice job! Some of the things I start painting and about half way through I think...okay..what WAS I thinking? So, I know the feeling. It is beautiful now though. Have fun painting the smaller one. Diana
soooo cute!!
Hey Sandy, don't you just love that term "What not" it is just so cute!! I always say when I get one..."got me a what not for my do dats"...yes I am a bit odd... Love the transformation, cheers Katherine
What a cute piece. I am a sucker for turned wood piece but yes they are a challenge to paint! Love the chair too:)
Thanks for sharing.
It looks gorgeous Sandy. I've been looking for one of these for a while now, very hard to come by up here. Beautiful chair too :)
Looks fantastic Sandy! You could make anything look good tho'. Loved your last post re the bedside tables too - I have just bought a pair that I blogged about here http://thepapertreedesign.blogspot.com/2010/08/vinnies-finds.html
I was going to change the handles, but I think I'll leave them now as yours look beautiful. Thanks for the inspiration. Michelle
You are more patient than me! I have a large one and got fed up with all the work and have started dismantling it to use for "Parts". The spindles will be candlesticks, the gingerbread will serve as embellishments on another piece and the rest will be at the street corner on Friday. Looks great! Sue @awellovedhome.com
What's happened to your spray-gun Sandy;o)
Your What Not looks great and that is a VERY cute chair.

Good morning Sandy,
Where does Sue Richardson live??? I'm gonna pick through her trash!!! LOL!! (I'll check her blog in a minute)
I love your slipper chair and white what-not. I have one very similar and after seeing yours have now decided to paint mine white!
I just happened onto your blog a few days ago and I have been busy reading old posts. I love it!! Your pictures and stories are great!!
Thanks so much for sharing!! Come over and visit sometime!
Warm hugs, Laura
Gosh I wish I could find some places here on the gold coast to pick up some small bits and pieces especially old victorian buttons and things(: And I want that mannequin in a few posts back LOL
It's very cute! The chair (love it) and the shelves look like they were made to sit next to each other, too.
Hola Sandy, this is very, very lovely!!!!
hugs
Your what-not shelf is lovely in white and I adore that little bedroom chair. So feminine!
Hugs, Cindy S
Love the what not shelf. I have one that is I think one shelf taller.

I'm so glad to see the painted what-not. I have my mum's sitting in the garage waiting for me to tackle. I think the fiddly bits were giving me an excuse to avoid starting.
Thanks for the encouragement!
Another gorgeous find looking better and fresh in white.
LoVe the Pinkish/Peach Pom-Pom Accent!*!*! Jeanine, ChiPPy!-SHaBBy!
