A Free Desk

When my daughter came home from a friend place on the weekend she said the words "free desk" and I think you might like it mum.
Well you know me I was in the van in a flash and had this little cutie home in no time at all. They were going to dump this at the tip that afternoon to make way for a more modern desk. This desk has history to the family and she was going to dump it!!!!
How cute is the little bookshelf on the side. Lots of great shelving here.
Already a great colour I don't even think I will bother with a coat of paint. Maybe a hardware change?

I love it Sandy, it is sooooooo cute! Well done for scoring it for free and saving it from the rubbish tip! I love the colour and I think new hardware would be all you'd need to do. Have a lovely day,
Jxx

Isn't it funny how some people have no emotional attachment to family pieces-and with other people you couldn't pry stuff away with a crowbar. I am one of the latter, I fear. However, I have started giving my children pieces I want them to have to remember grandparents, etc. with womeday.

I LOCE your little desk with the shelves. Where are you going to put it, or don't you know yet? i don't know if I would change the knobs or not...I'm thinking they aren't orginal though. I have seen desks like that and they usually have those flatter kind of wooden knob...but you could use anything. What a find! Diana

Beautiful find! Love the finish as is! I have a cabinet that looks very much like this. It was a free find also. Love trash days! :D

What a gorgeous desk - it never ceases to amaze me what people throw out. Maybe they just didn't know how to style it into their existing decor. I'm sure you will have it looking even more beautiful with a quick change of hardware. What a lucky pick-up! Michelle
