French Sofa Story

Thanks for all your ideas and comments on my front door. I loved the thought of painting it black with all the black trim I have around the home but every time I go out there to get ideas I change my mind.  I will be sure to post the final look here.

Now I thought I would share some more photos of my lovely french sofa. Many of you might have seen this before but it would have to be one of my most favourite finds.
I purchased this over three years ago and rescued it from being tossed at the tip.
I saw it and couldn't believe my eyes. Now I did leave it there, went home and thought about it and phoned the guy up and told him to put it aside for me. I mean what was I thinking leaving it there.

Some white denim and a good upholstery job later this is the end result. Upholstery NOT done by me but a little old man that does a lovely job.

Not sure if its a reproduction or an original but going by this old fabric I would say its an old piece for sure.

Hope you all have a great day.

Wow, love the lounge. I also have an old frenchy lounge waiting to be done up but not sure if I should paint the timber trim and whether to have a go at reupholstery it myself or not. I think it may be too big a job as I have 2 arm chairs aswell. Looking at yours I'm loving the timber look and you did an excellent job at recovering! What a find at the tip! take care,Maryann

Isn't it nice to be complemented on your upholstery skills Sandy;o)
It certainly is a beautiful piece of furniture and must be the score of the decade. I don't know if any of us could top that! I agree with Anna..don't hide those buttons.

That is an amazing transformation. It's good that you could see the potential and rescued it. What a shame it would have been to be decaying in a tip.

Thank goodness it was still there for you - You would be kicking yourself otherwise. It looks fabulous!

Just a word of thanks to you for rescueing and reviving all of these lovelies that would have ended up in a landfill. You do great work and I love your website.

Sandy,
This is a beautiful job!
What a place to take in daily dreams and creative thoughts on that restyled sofa. The white fabric is perfect for the room and the euro charm of it.

I will see you soon, can't wait to see whats next!
