Grain Sack Lamp

I have a few of these grain sacks lying around and when I picked up this drum lamp shade last week I knew exactly what I had planned for it. So this morning I have my son home sick so whilst he was getting some rest on the couch I started to cut out the pattern to cover the shade.

I think the lamp base might be better painted black but I couldn't wait to show you it all done. I don't think it needs any fancy braid as I like it just how it is.

I just cut and pinned the grain sack around the shade and used the hot glue gun to secure it.

LOVE this Sandy. The combo of burlap and chunky text is so warm and "real" feeling.

Hi Sandy,
I saw one of these recently (can't remember where) and all it had was a strip of black bias around the top and bottom. Very smart. Yours definitely doesn't need fancy trimming.
