Still love some colour

As much as I am enjoying decorating my new home in lots of neutrals its hard to take the flower out of the girl. I think I will always be a rose and pink girl and still have lots of rose paintings, floral doona covers and not to mention loads of shabby pieces. It's nice to be able to change things around and have either look. All you have to do is have the standard white couch and mix it all up by changing your cushions or lamps.

Hi Sandy, and here I thought you were changing your ways! So glad to hear that you're not.. lol! It's true though with a neutral canvas you can chop and change till your hearts desire! I am definately a roses girl, even though I am trying to tone down the pink abit..just a bit, can't seem to get away from it as I love it! Your new house looks fabulous, you must be loving it.. especially liked the idea of painting the floors. I would have never thought of it.. you gave me the idea to paint my flooring if I have trouble finding my proper floor boards atleast they won't look so ugly until I do. Thanks for that... take care, Maryann

Hi Sandy,
i'm a hundred percent with you. Though I adore whites and the gustavian style in general as it can make my tiny apartment look much bigger and comfier, I'm a roses girl by definition, hence thename of my blog...lol.
I have roses chushions, french bouties and lampashades with rose decors. I believe that a floral touch is definitely a must-have.

I have to agree! We went with pale neutrals in our new home too but I am adding colour as we go. I am a BIG Cath Kidston fan.

wonderful collection of images - I love whites and neutrals as a base - and then adding colour to suit the season or mood too - and Im totally with you on the roses - "... that which we call a rose, By any other name would smell as sweet" ~ Shakespeare :)

Hi Sandy, lovely pictures today. It has taken me all day to see them as our computer is going so slow it has nearly sent me to the looney bin!! Nothing like some florals to lower the blood pressure:o)

I love the rose wallpaper - I would never use it because like you I have all neutrals but I can't resist dreaming about these gorgeous colours and patterns! Leigh
