Some Mid Week Before & Afters

Usually I forget to take the before pic and I had almost got the undercoat on this piece and then I remembered. This long cabinet was so ugly before I gave it the white treatment that my sister thought I was crazy buying it. I could just see the potential in this piece though and are thrilled with the end result. Will be unreal for the TV. Hope your all having a fab week.

Beachy Cushions & Friday Finds

Hi girls, well I did it I have bought some beachy cushions instead of my usual pink. Think they make a nice change. It's amazing how you can change the look just with your cushions. Nice to know that you can put them away and bring out your pink ones for the summer.

My Friday finds included today a lovely queen dresser, matching bedside and stool. I also got a lovely pedastool dining table, a desk and a very nice scrolly tv cabinet which should be interesting. Will post a before and after pic of those when finished.

Dressing table transformation

Thought I would post a pic of my latest finished piece. This was purchased some time ago but I have been putting off painting it as once again it was one of those pieces that I was unsure of painting white. But you all know me too well and it soon got a coat of white paint over the weekend. Think it turned out lovely. It has been sold already and is going to its new home tomorrow.

Weekend Finds

Well I set out for the markets bright and early this morning and the one thing I really wanted was a small hall table with turned legs. As you can see from my pictures I scored one. Don't you just love that. I also got this unreal leadlight bedside cabinet and the best thing of all a basket chandelier. I haven't come across a chandy for some months and then presto the find of the day. Hope some of you managed to make it to a market today and scored like me.

House Hunting Continues

Well the house hunting continues and the things that I would love the most would be a white picket fence with a rose arbour, a gorgeous white kitchen and a claw foot bath. Not much to ask don't you think? (oh and a big shed for all my goodies)

100 Post Give-Away

Gee those 100 posts went quick. Thought I would do a giveaway and what better prize than this fab shabby bag. The bag is huge and is fantastic for all your goodies and is perfect for the beach. This bag can be easily wiped clean and I'm sure the winner will really enjoy this. Just leave a comment on my blog about anything and I will select the winner at the end of the week.

Thanks for the lovely comments on my new sofa. I am still deciding on what colour cushions and throw rugs. I have millions of cushions and they are all pink and shabby. I think I have turned a little and are really liking taupe's and beachey stuff. Will have to play around a little. Now Nappisan would have to be my saviour. Nappysan is only available in Australia and New Zealand as far as I am aware. It is the miracle everyday brightening agent that turns your whites white again and would be in every household laundry in Australia I am sure. When I purchased this sofa I was a little disappointed at first as there were many marks on the arm rests. I soaked the covers over night and in NapiSan and presto they are like new. NapiSan is not a form of bleach and can be used even on colours.

New Purchase

Hope your all having a lovely weekend. Tought I would take a quick snap of my new purchase. I sold my other white couches recently not because they wern't comfortable but because they were just not long enough to really have a good snooze on the couch. Well i picked this beauty up and its over two metres long. This couch is so comfortable and even better that I soaked the covers in nappy san over night so they have come up like new.

Store Snapping

Had time this morning to call into one more lovely local shop in Bargara. This store was very beautiful to say the least and had the most divine homewares. Oh well back home for me now had the best holiday enjoying time with the family. We took seperate vehicles so you know what that meant. Plenty of room for furniture finds along the way.

Holiday Painting

We are still away and I am not looking forward to heading back to work later in the week. This break away has had the creative juices flowing and I have been experimenting with some new colours. Being by the beach has inspired me to paint some beachy blues. I found this chair by the side of mum and dad's house so thought it would be a good piece to test the colours on. I also bought this rocking chair with me as I painted it white for a local lady.

Seaside Delights

Holidaying by the sea is almost a sure bet that you will find lovely beachy shops. This shop is really gorgeous and has loads of beachy items and even great clothing. If your ever near the seaside coastal town of Bargara be sure to call into SanShells Boutique.
