Well I got over my son being sick and now my poor daughter has started vomitting tonight so lets hope it stops there. School holidays here in Australia so we are looking forward to having a week away at my parents and not having to do the school run. Managed a bit of painting today and even took in a lovely lunch with a close friend. Hope you all have a good week. xSunday, June 28, 2009

Some Favourite Finds
Just thought I would post some pictures of some of my favourite finds. I often see things on ebay and wonder how could people part with such gorgeous things. I think I am pretty good and have seen things come and go in my home. These lamps are just getting too hard to find so once I come across them they are definate keepers. I try not to regret selling anything but often wonder is there something that you bloggers have sold that you wish you hadn't?

Friday Finds & Chandelier Collection
Just a few pics of some Friday finds. I did mange this lovely globe which my son will just love can you believe it cost $1 bargain. I also got this lovely green wicker chair a pine rustic coffee table, a small occasional table and I got a fantastic plasma cabinet. It's all scrolly and has lots of drawers but will have to wait for photos of these painted. I have managed to post a pic of my chandelier collection in my shed. You can see why I need my own home. These have been hanging for years waiting for the right house. Lets just say on that note we are doing some second inspections tomorrow so hopefully we can decide. Thanks for all your comments on house hunting they have been very helpful. Have a good weekend - Sandy x

House Decisions
We are in the market for a new home and actually started our search today. We looked at two properties and how I wish they looked like these beauties. Do you go for the house of your dreams or the more practical house for the kids. The first house had everything inside I could wish for - high ceilings, claw foot bath, large cottage house with loads of character and even a sperate room under the house for either another bedroom or play room. My furniture would look amazing in this house and its an easy walk into town. The downside is the block is quite steep and the house is close to the road. The second home is on three acres very plain but has fully fenced paddocks, stables, sheds and even an above ground pool. The kids would love the space but it is not my dream home. I know the land is more practicle at the end of the day. Think we will have to sleep on this and weigh up whats more important. Do you go with you heart or your head?

In Love
Well to paint or not to paint is always the burning question. I had to be 100% sure when I painted this and that i was. I think it has totally done the piece justice and I would not change it back to dark in a heart beat. It was the hardest piece I have ever painted as the carvings were so fiddly and it drank the paint. My arms and legs are killing me and I need a hot bath (oh we don't have one). Never mind I will be standing in the kitchen all night admiring my work. Not sure what I will fill it with yet but I'm sure I will find something. The sideboard to the left of the armoir is one I picked up last week that has also come up a treat. The weather has been kind to us all weekend so that made the paint dry even quicker.

Friday Finds
Have not been out for quite a few Friday's so took the day off work to have an extra long weekend. What a haul I got today. Didn't start too well when the guy that was parked next to me decided to open his car door up on mine and scraped the door. First time I have taken my car and not the van and look what happens. Never the less all the finds made up for it and the trip was well worth it. Got this divine timber mirror, well its actually a wardrobe door i think but will look amazing painted and a rose applique I can hardly wait to get to this. I also got a scrolly mirror, some divine lace place mats, a white ironstone pilcher, cute little wicker basket for the bathroom. Got seven pieces of furniture that will have to wait until I return to collect they were made up of sideboards, wardrobes, cupboards and a lovely timber desk. Oh and the vintage floral ottoman was a lovely find too.
