Latest Purchase

Well I finally got this beauty home on Friday and for now it is living in my garage until I can work up the energy to paint this beauty. I have been told that the timber is jarrah but really that doesn't make much difference to me as I know she will look divine white - what do you think ladies paint her?

On its Way

Thought I would take a picture of all this furniture that I have finished and is now off to a Shabby Shop in Brisbane. Just having it all in the backyard makes we want to keep it all. Best get busy with the next lot.

Finds

The house we stayed in was heritage listed and very original to say the least. Just too cute for words.

Some lovely finds along the way. The dressmaker's mannequin was so old and had that much character that I could not pass her up. The huge old basket is much larger in person and will be a handy piece to fill with lots of goodies. Just have a thing for beachy blue and these bedsides are part of a matching pair - sideboard included.

Favourite Shop

Being away from home makes you appreciate two things - the love for new things and the love for your family.
I am on a girl's weekend away with three of my dearest friends. We went to a fantastic shop today called Alba. What a gorgeous surprise to find heaps of vintage linens, eiderdowns, chandeliers and exquisite wall sconces. The man that owns and runs this shop has collected for many many years and it would have to be one of the best vintage shops I have ever been to.

Having a ball stopping off at lovely coffee shops along the way. The period homestead is beyond description. The gardens are a riot of colour and wood is plentiful on the acreage for our open fire. Plenty of night time eating and drinking and toasting marshmallows.

Headed out to a garage sale this morning and got some lovely finds and hope to find more at the maket in the morning. Could become quite accustomed to this life of leisure!

Shabby Getaway

Tomorrow I am lucky to be heading off with some close girlfriends of mine to the lovely NSW coast. We plan to do lots of eating, drinking and best of all shopping and markets. Just to chill out for a few days and not have any one else to look after apart from myself is going to be very relaxing. Hope you all have a lovely weekend and will share when I return.

Skywalk

Spent a lovely Mothers Day up in the clouds at Mount Tamborine. This beautiful tourist destination is just 15 mins from our home and is a fantastic getaway. Beautiful antique shops, restaurants and not to mention the scenery. The sky walk has just opened and is a great place to take the kids and just enjoy the bush.

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day Bloggers. My day has started lovely with the kids spoiling me with some lovely gifts from the Mothers Day stall at school. I was actually quite surprised as these gifts seem to get better each year. Then I walked into the lounge room and they had made a lovely mothers day banner all stuck to the wall with sticky tape - god love them.
Would have loved to of posted some pictures of my armoire but I still haven't got it yet. Went to collect and it and it would not fit in my van so have to get a removalist to collect it for me when he can. Will definetly post some pics as soon as I get it.
Pleased to say that my back is getting better. The furniture painting has suffered for some weeks now but at least I am giving it time to come right. Also meant to tell you all that I had the pleasure of meeting Andrea from The pink poodle on Thursday night. Andrea was on the coast and Melinda and I caught up with her for a coffee. So nice to meet someone in person for a change than emailing each other. Have a safe trip home Andrea.

Chair Covers

Not much blogging going on here I'm afraid. I have had back trouble for the last few weeks and have tried to slow down the furniture lifting. If your like me and decide to change things around the home it has to be done now and not when your husband gets home to help you. I knew it would catch up with me one day so I am giving my back a rest and have promised myself that I will wait for help in the future.

I have found the ultimate find. I have been looking for a french armoire for months and guess what. Cannot wait to show you when I get this beauty home.
