Pretty Things

Having a lovely week even though I am working. My parents arrived Good Friday to stay for a week which was a lovely surprise.
I am loving this blue colour and can't wait to start painting some pieces in this shade. Was going to post some photos of my latest finds but promise I will do that Friday. Hope your all having a good week. Sandy x

French Sideboard

Thought I would share a pic of my latest find. Got this gorgeous french sideboard for a a fraction of the price its worth new. I don't normally buy many reproductions but I could not let this beauty go.

Hope your all having a lovely Good Friday. I have prepared the prawns and the barramundi and looking forward to a lunch time BBQ with seafood & salad. Just took a few pics this morning of these beautiful roses my husband & kids bought home for me last night. Much better than chocolate wouldn't you say. The vase (champagne cooler) is an old trophy that my uncle won about 50 odd years ago when he was a jockey I have never polished it just love the old tarnished look i guess.

I have put a photo a chest of drawers - just love this blue colour think I might have to get me some of that colour paint.

Happy Easter all my shabby bloggers. Seems like I am not the only one that dreams about opening a shop of my own. Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Easter and enjoys the time with family and friends. I have four days off and I need them. Work has been flat out and I am missing my painting. Hope to take some furniture picturs over the break. Enjoy xo Sandy

Dream On

Am I the only one that dreams of a shop of my own or is there someone else out there in blogland that has this passion as well. I know Cathy Penton is making her dream a reality and I look forward to reading about her journey. I have the vision of my shop in my head and ponder the thought almost every day of my life.. My husband, family & friends tell me to go for it. But I just don't know what is holding me back. Maybe the ecomony and how tuff things are at the moment play a lot on my mind. I have a job and a regular income but I know that a shop is not always a regular thing. I dream of the beautiful things I would have in my shop and the furniture well there's plenty of that in my shed.

Candles, soaps, flowers and beautiful pajamas not to mention shabby lamps, mirrors, chandeliers, scrolly furniture oh the list goes on. I know that one day I will do this but for now I will dream and make my list of all the things that will one day go into my shop.

Rainy Friday

Well it has not stopped raining here for the last 48 hours we have had really strong winds and flooding up north in Noosa. Yesterday was our 15 year Wedding Anniversary and as usual my husband planned a lovely dinner at at Restaurant up on Mount Tamborine. The car ride up there was quite scary as there were tree branches everywhere all over the road. My daughter has been at camp all week and my sister decided to take my son away to see my parents for the week also so the house I must say has been very quiet indeed. The wash load was very minimal and the food in the fridge and pantry actually lasted the week. I really miss them when they are not here and will be glad when they are both home.

Being back at work has definetly impacted on my painting but still managed to get out today and find a few nice goodies. Between the pouring rain I managed to get the items into the car but will have to go back for the larger pieces next week as I did not have my van with me today. Will send through some pics over the weekend of my finds. I have a wardrobe on my wishlist at the moment just like this one pictured.
