Friday Finds

Was very disappointed today when i set off to find that the op shop I normally visit was closed for one week of renovating. Oh well never mind. Stopped into another one instead and found a gorgeous bunch of artificial hydranges and some other pretty white flower. I have been looking at these hydranges in David Jones and they are around $25 a stem i got this whole bunch for $6. I just love flowers but if you do the artificial thing they really do have to look real otherwise can have that cheap and nasty look about them. Thought these looked unreal. Have also posted a pic of the mirror and gorgeous pot cupboard that i finished this week. Sandy x

Day Off

Haven't had a day off for finds in weeks so today I am heading off in my van and hopefully I will have a nice collection by the end of the day - Fingers crossed xxx

Around The House

Had the day off today so cleaned the house from head to toe and even managed to bake a cake and make a lovely risotto for lunch. Thought i would snap some pics of the house seen it was so clean & tidy. Having gorgeous weather here in Queensland we are so lucky.

Mirror Mirror on the wall

Mirrors I believe can really make a home. I just love these vintage mirrors and the french grey one is divine. I love a wall of mirrors and don't they make a statement placed flat on a table with a beautiful vase of flowers on the top. I just can't get enough of these beauties.

Not so Bad

Well must say that the job was not as bad as i imagined and i quite enjoyed my first day. Not as much pressure as the last two places as this complex is much smaller with 60 units not 280 like the last one. Just have to master the different computer system and I will me right. I find myself getting up a bit earlier in the mornings so I can enjoy the time at home having a peaceful breakfest before the kids get up. Will definetly be making time to blog. Guess your right I am one of the lucky ones that does have a job in these bad economic times.

Back To Work

I have taken a Property Management Job and I start tomorrow. Don't know if I have done the right thing as I did say i would never do this line of work again. After about 15 years in this Industry it would have to be the most unrewarding and thankless job I have ever done. Constant conflict and abuse - gee i hope this place is better than the last. Who knows I just might enjoy it, I know the money will be nice. Hoping to have one day off a week so i can still do my favourite thing ever.

Garage Sale Find

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Normally I am not a garage sale person well one who seeks them out and gets up at a ridiculous hour anyway - would much prefer a market myself - however its a bit different when there's a garage sale in your street. I got up quite early and actually rode my bike down the street to the sale. Picked up a lovely little queen anne dresser (not on the back of my bike) which is in bad need of a paint but thats all good. Having a lazy afternoon, have baked a cake and ready for a cuppa. Cupboard's alike

My friend Tanza "tea girl" has posted her latest find which is a cupboard very similiar to the one I stumbled upon a few weeks ago. These cupboards are so handy as you can fit them into a corner anywhere. I have mine currently in the laundry full on laundry products but would look amazing with lovely china on it. I'm sure Tanza will have her's looking lovely soon. When I found mine it was already undercoated white so half the job was already done for me. Don't you just love that.

Crazy About Lamps

Was out and about yesterday and just cannot resist a pretty lamp base. Not sure on the shades but they are nicely shaped so should re-cover nicely. These lamps are getting harder and harder to find so have to snap them up when i see them. Have a good weekend bloggers. Sandy

Some Bargain Finds

Yesterday I had a few things to do in town and spending an hour or so at the hairdressers was definetly on the to do list. Don't you just love it when you get the best head massage. Anyway called into a couple of op shops and found the most divine green lampshades. I already had the bases which had been put away until i could find the perfect shades for them.
I also spied a jacket hanging on the nearby clothes rack. I am not really one to look at the clothing but this jacket caught my eye. My size, great colour and almost new i would say. Had a price tag of $20 and the old dear ended up giving it to me for the grand price of $17. Hennes is the brand so i hope its a god one. The bag was also a great find. Just goes to show that you really can shop on a budget if need be.

Stool Makeover

Morning girls - check out these cuties. These were the stools i got the other day further down in my posts. Haven't they come up lovely. Painted in white of course and then covered in a lovely vintage barkcloth. The fabric was actually a curtain panel but more more useful to me cut up. Have a good day everyone.

Computer Nook

I hate having the computer tucked away in the spare room. For one its way too hot in there, 2 i like to be able to see what the kids are doing on the computer and 3 i love to be able to look out my lovely window into the bush. So i set this little nook up this morning with the table and chair i got on Firday. Gave them a coat on paint over the weekend and here we are.

Sunday Markets

My husband only gets one weekend off a month so that was my opportunity to get up early and hit the makets whilst they were all still asleep. Love to go early and get home early and cook the lovely free range eggs that i get from the local stall holders. My finds today were a lovely blue/white pitcher, a pedastool table.

Check out these vintage children's sun lounges. Could not resist these for a bargain price of $5 each. My kids will love lying by the pool or beach on these beauties.
