Holiday Painting

We are still away and I am not looking forward to heading back to work later in the week. This break away has had the creative juices flowing and I have been experimenting with some new colours. Being by the beach has inspired me to paint some beachy blues. I found this chair by the side of mum and dad's house so thought it would be a good piece to test the colours on. I also bought this rocking chair with me as I painted it white for a local lady.

Great results. Great colour choices too.

Ohhh, I like the pretty color on the chair. Is it like a Robin's eggs blue? Where are you going to put it? Do you have other blue painted furniture or is most of it white?

I love the shabby chic look, but don't have it myself. My daughter loves it! And she has several painted pieces. Maybe someday her place will look as great as yours. ((smile))

Sandy, I love the blue chair. And of course I would love the white rocker. I'm so glad that you have been enjoying your break.

I really like the blue chair. I'm planning on painting a child's rocking chair. I was thinking of blue or green and applying a vintage style decal on it. I've just finished sanding it. But the blue may have sealed the deal. I'll show and tell later. Thanks.

Toodles.

It must be in the air! I've been playing around with some blues, particularly pale aqua blue. I started with a metal jardiniere and have also worked on to a small table and a laddeback chair. So ironic.

Wishing you a safe and enjoyable trip home.

Did you spray or hand paint your rocker and what appliances did you use? It looks wonderful and I have one to redo myself. I love the blue you used on the chair. I hope you'll stop by and say hello. I have enjoyed my visit here.

Love it! Love the color! It always amazes me how a coat of paint can bring life to an old, discarded piece of furniture. I've got 4 chairs to paint, and their seats to recover. I'm starting to get to where I'm ready to "go for it"!
