In Love

Well to paint or not to paint is always the burning question. I had to be 100% sure when I painted this and that i was. I think it has totally done the piece justice and I would not change it back to dark in a heart beat. It was the hardest piece I have ever painted as the carvings were so fiddly and it drank the paint. My arms and legs are killing me and I need a hot bath (oh we don’t have one). Never mind I will be standing in the kitchen all night admiring my work. Not sure what I will fill it with yet but I’m sure I will find something. The sideboard to the left of the armoir is one I picked up last week that has also come up a treat. The weather has been kind to us all weekend so that made the paint dry even quicker.

How fabulous it looks now that you have painted it white. It is amazing how well the detail in the carvings stands out compared to when it was dark.

Oh My Gosh Sandy, you so did the right thing. I'm in love too. What a lovely piece this is. I am sure you would ache after tackling this. But it is so worth the soreness.

Way to go Sandy, I love the white! I have a armoire too and it had a yellowish tint to it and I decided to paint it white awhile back. I was wondering did you think about stressing it up a little bit. That may bring out the details out a little bit more. Anyways you did a fabulous job… looks fantastic!
